FILM, TELEVISION AND MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY
LondonsDJ.uk had the pleasure of providing full DJ and Production services for a very prestigious film, television and music entertainment company who has asked not to be named. The lavish event was held at the stunning venue Sopwell House and entertained close to 400 guests for the evening. We received fantastic feed back from all the guests, from Sopwell House them selves and we are already set to work with the client again on several projects later this year.
MERCEDES STAFF PARTY
What an exhausting but amazing December it has been this year for LondonsDJ.uk keeping the Christmas spirits high from start to finish at some of the finest venues across London. Though we have many, one of our favourite nights was for the Mercedes Brentford Christmas party, where we transformed the dealership into a stylish club environment. Please see below...
12 THINGS TO CONSIDER OR ASK YOUR DJ BEFORE YOU BOOK THEM!
1. Legal written contracts.
Ensuring both yourself and the DJ is covered via a written legal contract is very important and something your DJ will be happy to provide if they are a professional establishment. Establishing what level of service the DJ is obligated to provide and vice versa is the first step in achieving a well organised and prepared event.
2. Who will be DJ'ing at your event?
Most often, the person you speak with on the phone is not the person that will be DJ'ing on your big day (this is most common with larger companies). It is crucial to have transparency on exactly who will be DJ'ing at your event, what experience they have, their background, style and mixing capabilities to ensure you feel comfortable with them and that they fit the style of your event (you wouldn't want a 50 year old scruff playing at your daughters sweet 16th now would you?!)
LDJ played at the #Underated Camden flagship store.
LondonsDJ.uk was more than pleased to be apart of Underated's launch event at their new flagship store in Camden. The turn out was incredible with over 200+ people turning up to show their support and check out the new fashion collection. The new store makes a great addition to the towns already well sort after fashion brands and stores adding a new fresh collection for the notorious fashionista's.
OFFICIALLY THE BIGGEST SONG OF 2015!
This song always seems to sneak its way into our mixes and never fails at getting the dance floor packed, and it's a shock to no one that the song that I am speaking of is Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk.
According to 'the Official Charts Company' Uptown Funk is currently the biggest track of 2015, based on sales and audio streams accumulating sales of 2.12 million+ in total and its easy to see (or shall I say hear) why. It earned Mark his first UK chart-topper back in December and logged a total of seven weeks at the summit.
Here at LondonsDJ.uk, we love this song and suggest you add it to your request list whether it be for your wedding, birthday, club night or more, it wont let you down.
VINYL IS REACHING A 26-YEAR HIGH IN THE US
New figures posted by the Recording Industry Association of America reveal nine million vinyl albums were sold in the first half of 2015, compared to the 14 million that were sold in the entirety of 2014.
If these figures continue, 2015 will be the best year for wax in 26 years.
This revival is being attributed to younger customers (or ‘millennials’, in industry speak). Music Watch has reported that half of vinyl buyers are under 25, with men being more likely to purchase than women — but only just, as they make up 56% of customers.
According to Independent Record Pressing GM Sean Rutkowski, it's the advent of music streaming services that is causing the vinyl comeback.
Rutkowski said: “I believe that digital has helped the comeback of vinyl because digital strips out the tangibility of music… it really is just a file. It’s something you can hold, something you can touch, something you can listen to in a way that just putting something on your computer doesn’t compare to.”
This comes after the news that vinyl in the US now generates more revenue than all the major free music streaming platforms combined.
So who said that vinyl was dead?!
